What your front entrance says about you!

FRONT ENTRANCE - HIDDEN MEANING

This past week I had two separate unrelated enquiries for plant styling both for front entrances.

One was a friend sending me a photo of a sick looking Happy Plant at the front reception waiting area of a medical centre with the caption, "maybe contact this business and tell them about your self-watering pots".  I thought to myself if this is the way their plant looks upon arrival to their business what type of service would they be providing to me as their customer? Not really instilling the trust and care in me that I'd be seeking.

The second was from a home owner wanting to dress-up her bare front porch. She's just finished renovating her home and looking to get some new plants and pots and firstly starting off with the front entrance. I took note that it was her front entrance she wanted to start decorating not inside. She's loving the three white pot combo I did for another customer's porch that she saw on our Instagram and wants something like that.

This got me thinking about front entrances and the hidden meaning behind them. The way in which we decorate them (or not) and what that reveals about the people who live there.

Do you actually use your front door? or do guests use your back / side door?

Do you have potted plants? Are they healthy? or sick looking?

Is your front entrance untidy? dusty? has a collection of random assortments?

Even though I'm a plant stylist and it may seem like I'd have the perfect neat front entrance, most of the time I do but that's not always the case lol. I have a simple, usually uncluttered entrance. But on any given day you may find an assortment of shoes, my daughter's unfinished art projects, her collection of cactuses in small pots and a large potted Jade Money Tree that now in a self-watering pot is thriving and looking so lush but for years was looking half dead. It's an entrance that reflects a home with active, creative family members and an obvious plant lover.

The front entrance of our house often serves as a reflection of the our inner world and personal values.

A thoughtfully, decorated entrance can indicate a person who is proud and wants to make a positive impression. They may value order and creativity and desire to project a certain image to the outside world.

Decorated with certain elements of nature like potted plants, envelops connection to the natural world and brings balance and harmony to an entrance. And certain plants are said to attract positive energy and good fortune into a space.

An untidy or poorly maintained entrance can create a barrier to positive energy flow. It might block the influx of good vibes and contribute to a sense of stagnation.

Moving into the new season of Spring take a look at your front entrance.

Do you like the way it looks?

What would you change about it?

What would you add to it? or take away?
